   Cause of his death was chronic disseminated tuberculosis.

  General Notes:

Samuel's birth was notified to the registrar, John Tait, at Glasgow on 19 December 1901 by his mother. She signed A. Tweedley.

Samuel's father, John, was recorded in Samuel's birth certificate as a coal miner.

When Samuel Tweedley died in 1936 he was a single man aged 34 years. His father was deceased. 1 2

STREETFINDER

Ardenlea Street in modern Glasgow street maps is found in the Dalmarnock district of the city near the River Clyde.

FARME COLLIERY

There was a colliery near Dalmarnock Bridge, close to Ardenlea Street, at this time. Farme Colliery was famous for its atmospheric condensing steam engine which had been erected in 1809 and wound the cut coal to the surface. This colliery closed in 1916. 4

D. Livingston Kerr MB ChB certified the cause of death.

John Tweedley, Samuel's brother , of 28 Bertram Street Hamilton, and who was present where his brother died, gave notice of the death before the registrar at Hamilton on 27 May 1936. 2
