Sarah Cavanagh was a witness at the wedding of Alice Cavanagh to John McArdle in 1845.

When she died in 1863, Sarah was recorded as aged 34 years. She was described as being 'married to John Carlin iron miner'. Both of her parents were then dead. ²

John Carlin, the widower of Sarah Cavanagh, who had been present where her death occurred, gave notice of her death before David Scott, registrar, at Cumnock on 23 November 1863.

Sarah married John CARLIN, son of Dennis CARLIN and Catharine McLAUGHLIN, on 27 November 1849 in St Patrick's RC Church, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ (John CARLIN was born in 1825 and died on 31 January 1878 in Auchinleck, Ayrshire, Scotland ³.)

  Marriage Notes:

The earlier date of the 5 November 1849 supplied by the IGI was probably the banns of marriage.

John Carlin and Sarah Cavanagh were married by Father Michael O'Keeffe. The witnesses were Robert Cavanagh and Mary Carlin. ¹
