  General Notes:

When Thomas was born in 1855 it was his father, Samuel, who notified the registrar. He gave notice of his son's birth before Thomas Hamilton, registrar, at Kilmaurs on 30 November 1855 and made his X mark. The mother of Thomas was inscribed as Margaret Nelson, instead of Margaret Wilson, but this is without doubt an auditory or a scribal error.

Thomas was the family member who informed the registrar of the death of his father, Samuel, at Govan in 1900. He made his X mark and gave his address as 6 Byers Road, Partick, Glasgow. ²

Thomas married Mary Ann CONNELL in 1881 in Partick, Govan Parish, Glasgow, Scotland.¹ (Mary Ann CONNELL was born about 1855.)
