  General Notes:

In 1861 Thomas Cumming headed a household of six people living at 27 Thread Street. As well as himself and his wife, the census recorded Thomas as having three children of his own and one adopted daughter. That adopted daughter was Marion Stevenson. She was recorded as 14 years of age and had been born in Paisley. She was a thread mill worker.
