In 1841 the census recorded Patrick living in his family home at Muslin Street in Barony parish, Glasgow. He was aged 14 years and had not been born Lanarkshire but elsewhere in Scotland. He was a cotton piecer by occupation.
The 1851 census for Calton in Glasgow recorded a Patrick Quigley who was a shoemaker living as a lodger at 65 Dale Street, another street like Muslin Street and parallel to it, abutting Main Street Bridgeton. Patrick's age was recorded as 27 years and his birthplace as Ireland. A family surnamed Logan lived in a nearby household to Patrick's. Patrick lived as a lodger along with William Bradlie in the household of Philip Kirk and family.
In 1861 a young man aged 36 years called in the census Peter Quigley (Peter and Patrick were interchangeable at that time and in that culture) was recorded living with his wife and family at Lindsays Land in Maryhill north of Glasgow. He had been born in Paisley Renfrewshire and was a shoemaker. With him in the household lived his wife, their three daughters and a son, and his wife's mother.
An entry in the 1881 census recorded a Peter Quigley, head of a household consisting of his wife Mary and a daughter Mary, living at 7 Burnside Street Glasgow. Peter was a shoemaker, aged 59 years, and had been born in Paisley Renfrewshire.
In 1883 Peter Quigley was the informant of his wife's death. In her death certificate he was recorded as a journeyman shoemaker. He signed the death notice. 2 3 4 7 8 9

Burnside Street, Glasgow was situated near Garscube Road in the old Cowcaddens area of the city.
Patrick married Mary KELLY, daughter of Bernard KELLY and Margaret O'DONNELL. (Mary KELLY was born in 1821 in Pollokshaws, Eastwood Parish, Renfrewshire, Scotland 2 and died 27 January 1883 at 3.00 am in 65 Richard Street, Glasgow, Scotland 8.). The cause of her death was bronchitis and asthma.
