  General Notes:

The 1850 US Federal Census for Steubenville City, Jefferson County, Ohio, recorded a weaver called William Quigley aged 48 years and born in Scotland. With him lived his wife Mary, and three daughters, Catherine, Mary and Ellen. The mother Mary Quigley was recorded as 45 years old and born in Ireland.

In 1860 the 1860 US Federal Census recorded William Quigley and family. They were listed among the free inhabitants of Ridley Township in the County of Delaware, Pennsylvania. 'Wm Quigley', his wife Mary and their two daughters, Mary and Ellen, were recorded living in Leiperville Post Office District. William was aged 57 years and had been born in Scotland. He was a weaver. His wife Mary was also recorded as 57 years old, and had been born in Ireland.

The 1870 US Federal Census for the 90th Census District in the County of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, recorded Mary Quigley, Ellen McCloskey, and Ellen Quigley, living together in an all-female household. In this census Mary was aged 60 years and born in Scotland.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Death Certificates Index 1803-1915, shpws a record of the death and burial of a Mary Quigley, born in Scotland in 1806. She died on 26 January 1878 at Philadelphia and was buried on 28 January 1878 in Cathedral Cemetery. Her age at death was recorded as 72 years. Her address was Ward 26, Tatona Street # 1820, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a widow.
