John was the eldest of the six children listed. He was in the 20-24 years age range and had been born in Dumfriesshire. He worked as an agricultural labourer. Medical Notes: John had no medical attendant. John married Jane JARDINE on 29 Jul 1845 in Dryfesdale, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.1 (Jane JARDINE was born about 1825 in Hoddam, Dumfriesshire, Scotland 4 and died after 28 Nov 1887 5.) John next married Edward DOCHERTY on 25 Nov 1892 in No. 14 George Ivth Bridge, Edinburgh, Scotland. (Edward DOCHERTY was born about 1830 and died after 8 Dec 1874 7.) Marriage Notes: The marriage was celebrated according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. The minister was George Kirkwood, Chaplain to the Forces. Henry Robertson Keills and Robina Smith were witnesses. |
