Henry William Richards was a bachelor of 20 years of age resident at the Royal Barracks Dublin. He was a Private in the 91st Regiment of Foot. His father was deceased.

Margaret Haddow was aged 20 years and unmarried. She worked as a dressmaker and resided at 2 Craig's Close, High Street, Edinburgh. She was recorded as the daughter of Robert Haddow, iron moulder, deceased, and Isabella Sanderlands [sic].

The marriage was registered on 10 January 1879 at Edinburgh, D.R. Brown being the registrar.

Edward next married John QUIGLY, son of Andrew QUIGLY and Mary BELL, on 25 Nov 1892 in No. 14 George Ivth Bridge, Edinburgh, Scotland. (John QUIGLY was born about 1820 in Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland 4 5 and died 28 November 1887 at 4.20 am in High Street, Edzell, Forfarshire, Scotland 6.). The cause of his death was senile decay.


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. The minister was George Kirkwood, Chaplain to the Forces. Henry Robertson Keills and Robina Smith were witnesses.

Alex Lochhead was a colour sergeant with the Argyle [sic] and Sutherland Highlanders. He was a bachelor of 26 years of age and lived at Edinburgh Castle. His father was deceased.

Margaret Hadden or Richards was the widow of Harry Richards, a private in the Argyle [sic] and Sutherland Highlanders. She was recorded as 27 years old and lived at NO. 19 St John Street Edinburgh. Her parents were deceased, her father being recorded as Robert Hadden her mother's husband.

The marriage was recorded at Edinburgh on 28 November 1892.
