However since her brother, George, was born in Carlingford, County Louth, it may be that she was born there too. Medical Notes: The causes of death were certified by C. W. Marshall MB. Mary married Ann or Bridget SMYTH MS UNCERTAIN.1 (Ann or Bridget SMYTH MS UNCERTAIN was born probably about 1810 in probably Ireland.) Marriage Notes: "One of these (daughters of Adam Abercromby), however, became the wife of Alexander's brother George, who was killed by the man who was both his father-in-law and stepfather. 'Upone the -- day of July (1643), Adam Abircrummy killit his wyfe's sone, callit George Leith, brother german (actually half-brother) to the goodman of Harthill, and who also wes mareit to the said Adames owne dochter ... (Spalding ii, 258) " (footnote, page 46) Mary next married Thomas KANE, son of Frederick KANE and Susan CALDWELL, on 3 Jan 1880 in Killowen, County Derry, Ireland.2 (Thomas KANE was born about 1860 and died 4 July 1887 at 11.30 pm in Infirmary, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland 10.). The cause of his death was otorrhea, meningitis and jaundice. Marriage Notes: The Church Marriage Record listed in the database of the Irish Family History Foundation records a marriage between Thomas Kain and Mary Jane Bothwell as having taken place on 3 January 1880. Both parties were recorded as belonging to the Church of Ireland. No specific venue was noted as the place of marriage except the parish name, Killowen, and the county, Co. Derry, but under 'Address' Thomas Kain's entry recorded 'Burnside', and listed for Mary Jane Bothwell was 'Somerset'. Mary next married William FULTON, son of William FULTON and Margaret GRAHAM, on 24 Dec 1895 in 28 Crawford Street, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland.3 (William FULTON was born on 3 Oct 1842 in Beith, Ayrshire, Scotland 17.) Marriage Notes: The marriage was celebrated according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. The witnesses were Allan McIntosh and Catherine McVean. |
