  General Notes:

We have two document sources for the name of Mary Jane Bothwell's mother. In one, Mary Jane's death certificate, the opening letters of her mother's surname are not clearly legible, so the name may be Norton or Morton. The other, the marriage certificate of William and Mary Jane, shows Mary Jane's mother's surname quite clearly to be Morton. ³

Jane married Samuel BOTHWELL. (Samuel BOTHWELL was born about 1825 and died before 1895.)
