The informant of Annie's birth was her mother Mary Jane Kane, who signed her name to the notice. This can be seen on the certificate copy. The birth was registered on 17 March 1885 at Greenock.
Annie Kane died in Greenock in 1971 at the recorded age of 86 years. Her usual residence was Belleaire Home, Newark Street, Greenock. She was a retired cook. 1 2

Annie Kane was said not to have married, but to have given birth to a son Gilbert McCorkindale or McCorquodale.
According to family information, Gilbert lived with Annie. He devoted some of his time to competitive photography.
