Daniel Vallely was aged 1 year when recorded by the 1861 census living with his parents and sister in Dumbarton. He had been born in Dumbarton.

The census of 1871 for the High Church or College parish of Glasgow recorded Daniel Vallely living at 81 New Vennel with his father and stepmother Sarah Vallely. He was recorded as 11 years of age and had been born in Dumbarton.

When Daniel Vallely died in 1900 he was recorded in his death certificate as being 40 years of age.

Daniel was a general dealer according to the death certificate of his son Henry in 1951. 4 5 6 7

The informant of Daniel's death was his widow Bridget Vallely who made her X mark. 4


Daniel married Bridget WARD, daughter of Edward WARD and Bridget CLARE, on 26 June 1885 in 276 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Bridget WARD was born on 25 January 1864 in Ballyward, County Down, Ireland 2 8.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place after banns according to the forms of the Free Church of Scotland. William Scrimgeour was the minister. The witnesses were James Mulheron and Mary McKenna.

Daniel Vallely made his X mark. He was a single man of 25 years of age and lived at 17 St Joseph's Place Glasgow. He worked as a general dealer. Both of his parents were deceased.

Bridget Ward, who also made her X mark, was a single woman aged 23 years of the same address as Daniel Vallely. She was a mill worker. Her father was deceased. 1
