Margaret married Captain Alexander GRANT of Grantsfield, Sheriff Principal of Aberdeen, son of James GRANT of Gellovie, Bailie and Unknown, in December 1739.1 2 3 (Captain Alexander GRANT of Grantsfield, Sheriff Principal of Aberdeen was born about 1692 and died on 28 April 1776.)

"Captain Alexander Grant of Grantsfield, mentioned in 1710 as brother-german to Ludovick Grant of Knockando. In 1727 he obtained a charter of resignation of the lands and barony of Ballogie, now Grantsfield, in the county of Aberdeen. There is a portrait of him at Castle Grant. He died on 28th April 1776. He married, in December 1739, Margaret, daughter of P. Farquharson of Inverey. She died at Grantsfield on 3d April 1753."
