"James Grant of Kinchirdie, designed eldest lawful son and heir of Robert Grant of Kinchirdie. On a precept of clare constat by Sir James Grant of Grant, dated 6th January 1731, he was infeft in all the lands held by his father. He obtained, in 1727 and 1751, prorogations of the redemption of the wadset of his lands held from the Lairds of Grant."
