Other names for Mungo were GRANT, Mungo of Kinchirdie,1 GRANT, Mungo of Duthel 1 and GRANT, Mungo of Gellovey.1 User ID: F940 General Notes: "Mungo (Grant), of whom are descended the Grants, of Tomdow, Knockando, Kinchirdy, and Tullochgriban." Mungo of Kincherdie was ancestor to Knockando, Kincherdie and Gartimberg Grants. Mungo married Margaret GORDON.1 (Margaret GORDON was born about 1635 and died before 1661 2.) Marriage Notes: "Mungo (Grant), fifth son alive in 1654. He was twice married : first, to Margaret Gordon; second, to Elizabeth Grant of Gartinmore. In 1667 he acquired Kinchirdie." Mungo next married Elizabeth GRANT, daughter of John GRANT of Gartenmore and Unknown, 12 May 1664(contract).1 2 (Elizabeth GRANT was born about 1640.) Marriage Notes: "Mungo (Grant), called of Kinchirdie, but sometimes also of Duthil and of Gellovie. He was for some time chamberlain and factor to his nephew, Ludovick Grant of Freuchie. He was twice married, first to Margaret Gordon, and secondly to Elizabeth, daughter of John Grant of Gartenmore, by both of whom he had issue, and was the ancestor of the Grants of Kinchirdie, Gellovie, Knockando, and the later Grants of Gartenbeg. |
