The marriage took place, after banns, according to the forms of the United Free Church. Alex. Bain Cormon(?), minister of St James Place United Free Church, Edinburgh, officiated. The witnesses were Mary McDonald, of 20 Southwell Street, Edinburgh, and George Gordon White, of 3A Annandale Street, Edinburgh.

John Ormiston was a single man of 25 years of age, who worked as a hairdresser. He lived at 18 East Thomas Street, Edinburgh. Both of his parents, Andrew Ormiston, a ship transport worker, and Jessie Cameron were deceased.

Mary Helen White was a baker's shop assistant, aged 25 years. She was unmarried and lived at 3A Annandale Street, Edinburgh.
