  General Notes:

The 1881 census for Ancrum in Roxburghshire recorded Robert C. Haimes, his wife Mary, and children Mina and Charles living at Harestanes. Robert was a house painter by occupation.

The family were still living in Harestanes Houses, Ancrum, when the 1891 census recorded them, and Robert C. Haimes was still a house painter. There were three more children, Douglas B. Haimes, Robert and Elizabeth.

In 1901 Robert C. Haimes and his wife Mary had moved to Newburgh in Fife, and were living at 85 High Street with their children Charles, Douglas, Lizzie and James. Robert was recorded as a house painter. 3 6 7


Robert married Mary BEATTIE, daughter of Douglas BEATTIE and Wilhelmina NIVET. (Mary BEATTIE was born on 21 March 1856 in Wilton, Roxburghshire, Scotland 1 4 6 and died on 15 April 1935 in Newburgh, Fife, Scotland 4.)
