General Notes: "Adam, Dean of Caithness, who had several natural sons, and a daughter, Elizabeth, married to John Gordon of Deskford (see p. 536 infra), and he is represented by the Gordons of Beldornie, Wardhouse, Embo, Invergordon, Ardoch, Carroll, and others" Adam had a relationship with Marriota DUFFUS, daughter of Sir John DUFFUS Chaplain and Unknown.1 (Marriota DUFFUS was born about 1476.) Marriage Notes: "This Mr Adam Gordon Dean of Caithness and Governour of Petty begat three natural sons and a Daughter on a Gentlewoman viz. Mr George Gordon of Beldorney, John Gordon of Drummoyes in Sutherland, and Mr William Gordon Chancellour of Dunkell ; his Daughter married the Laird of Findlater Ogilvy and after his death she married John Gordon son to George 5th Earl of Huntly. The forsaid Laird of Findlater Ogilvy disponed the Lands of Findlater and Achindown to the said John Gordon Laird of Findlater who married his Lady." |
