George married Janet ROSE, daughter of Hugh ROSE 9th of Kilravock and Agnes URQUHART, 17 June 1537(Contract).1 2 (Janet ROSE was born about 1514.)


  Marriage Notes:

"Another of this Kilravocks daughters, named Janet, maried Mr. George Gordon of Beldormie, being contracted January 27, 1537; and because they were within prohibited degrees of consanguinitie, ther was a dispensation obtained, dated at Placentia in Italie. The tocher was eight scor punds."

Their Father the said George builded the House of Belldorney and dyed"

"The first Gordon of Beldorney was George, son of Adam, Dean of Caithness, who was 3rd son of the 1st Earl of Huntly. The Dean died in 1528. This George got a charter of the lands of Beldorney on the Deveron, from Sir John Gordon of Findlater in 1560; he married Janet, daughter of Hugh Ros of Kilraik (date of marriage contract 17 June 1537), and is said to have died in 1575."
