"George Leslie married, first, Lady Christian Leslie, daughter of George, first Earl of Rothes, as is shown by an obligation, dated 20th May 1478, whereby George Leslie of that Ilk, acknowledging the great kindness which the Earl of Rothes had shown to him, in upholding him at great expense, from his childhood till he was twentyone years of age, and had paid great sums of money for his marriage with Lady Christian Leslie, daughter of the said Earl of Rothes, therefore he bound himself not to sell or wadsett any of his lands, or any that he was heir to, and that he would not alienate any part of his lands from the heir to be procreate betwixt him and the said Lady Christina Leslie. By this marriage George Leslie had issue"
