   Cause of her death was chronic Bright's Disease and cerebral haemorrhage over 10 days.2

   Other names for Margaret were CHALMERS PIRIE, Margaret,2 FORBES, Margaret 1 and PIRIE, Margaret.1

  General Notes:

When Margaret Chalmers Pirie died in 1900, her death certificate recorded her as the widow of William Robinson Pirie DD Principal of Aberdeen University. Her recorded age at death was 78 years. Her parents had predeceased her.

  Medical Notes:

Alexander Mitchell MB certified the cause of death.

George Pirie, Margaret's son, of 33 College Bounds, Aberdeen, was the informant of her death. He gave notice before the registrar at Aberdeen, James Meston, on 19 April 1900. 2


Margaret married Very Reverend William Robinson PIRIE Principal of Aberdeen University, son of Reverend Mr George PIRIE and Mary FORBES, on 24 March 1842 in Boharm parish, Banffshire, Scotland. (Very Reverend William Robinson PIRIE Principal of Aberdeen University was born on 26 July 1804 3 and died on 3 November 1885 1 2 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

The banns of marriage for this couple were also called on 20 March 1842 in Dyce Parish.
