Archibald married Janet DOUGLAS, daughter of George DOUGLAS Master of Angus and Elizabeth DRUMMOND, after 8 April 1528.1 2 (Janet DOUGLAS was born about 1494 and died in 1537 2.). The cause of her death was execution for conspiracy to murder King James V.

  Marriage Notes:

"He (Archibald Campbell) married, secondly, Janet Douglas, Lady Glamis, before 1535, without issue. She was, though innocent, accused of witchcraft and burned in 1537. Archibald Campbell as her husband was imprisoned with her in Edinburgh
Castle, and in attempting to escape was killed, or died from his injuries."

from Scots Peerage (vol 1)

"After the death of Lord Glamis she married Alexander Campbell of Skipnish, second son of Archibald, second Earl of Argyll. In his blind anger against the house of Douglas, Lady Glamis as the sister of the banished Earl was marked down for destruction by James V., but the conduct of his intended victim was so irreproachable that years elapsed before the King was able to put his purpose into execution."

from Scots Peerage (vol 4) 1 2
