"He (John, 6th of Glamis) married Jonet Douglas, third daughter of George, Master of Angus, who was slain at Flodden, and sister of Archibald, sixth Earl of Angus. After the death of Lord Glamis she married Alexander Campbell of Skipnish, second son of Archibald, second Earl of Argyll."

Janet next married Archibald or Alexander CAMPBELL of Skipnish (Skipness), son of Archibald CAMPBELL 2nd Earl of Argyll and Elizabeth (1) STEWART, after 8 April 1528.1 2 (Archibald or Alexander CAMPBELL of Skipnish (Skipness) was born about 1492.)


  Marriage Notes:

"He (Archibald Campbell) married, secondly, Janet Douglas, Lady Glamis, before 1535, without issue. She was, though innocent, accused of witchcraft and burned in 1537. Archibald Campbell as her husband was imprisoned with her in Edinburgh
Castle, and in attempting to escape was killed, or died from his injuries."

"After the death of Lord Glamis she married Alexander Campbell of Skipnish, second son of Archibald, second Earl of Argyll. In his blind anger against the house of Douglas, Lady Glamis as the sister of the banished Earl was marked down for destruction by James V., but the conduct of his intended victim was so irreproachable that years elapsed before the King was able to put his purpose into execution."
