LYON, Elizabeth of Glamis ¹

Elizabeth married John FORBES Master of Forbes, son of John FORBES 6th Lord Forbes and Christian LUNDIE, about 27 June 1535.¹ (John FORBES Master of Forbes was born about 1509 and died on 17 July 1537.). The cause of his death was execution by beheading for treason.

"John (Abernethy), witness to a charter to his brother William 21 March 1542-43. He married Elizabeth Lyon, daughter of John, Lord Glamis, who had been already thrice married, and died 14 November 1581, leaving a son and a daughter. He is sometimes styled of Balcors, from the lands which formed his wife's dower from her first husband."
