Elizabeth next married Alexander GORDON 3rd Earl of Huntly, son of Sir George GORDON 2nd Earl of Huntly, High Chancellor of Scotland and Elizabeth HAY, after 27 July 1511. (Alexander GORDON 3rd Earl of Huntly was born about 1471, died 16 January 1523(1524) in Perth, Scotland 3 and was buried 1523(1524) in Church of the Dominican Friars, Perth, Scotland 3.) Marriage Notes: "He (Alexander Gordon) married, secondly, Elizabeth, daughter of Andrew, Lord Gray, and widow of John, Lord Glamis. The marriage probably took place not long after 27 July 1511, on which date the King confirmed a charter of the Earl granting to her, as Lady Glamis, certain lands in Banff and Strathbogie." Elizabeth next married George LESLIE 4th Earl of Rothes, Sheriff of Fife, son of William LESLIE 3rd Earl of Rothes and Unknown, before 5 June 1525.2 3 (George LESLIE 4th Earl of Rothes, Sheriff of Fife was born about 1492 and died on 28 November 1558 in Dieppe, France 2.) Marriage Notes: "George, Earl of Rothes, married, secondly, about 1525, Elizabeth Gray, daughter of Andrew, third Lord Gray, relict of John, fourth Lord Glammis, and of Alexander, third Earl of Huntly. George, Earl of Rothes, granted a charter, dated June 1525, of the lands and barony of Ballinbreich, to Elizabeth Gray, Countess of Huntly, relict of the deceased Alexander, Earl of Huntly, for her lifetime. By her the Earl of Rothes had no issue." |
