"George Gordon, III. of Coclarachie, married Bessie, daughter of James Duncan of Merdrum. Bessie Duncan survived her husband [.....] In 1636 'the guidwyff of Coclarachie' was residing in Old Aberdeen (Munro's Old Aberdeen, i., 354); and probably the charter of liferent to Grissell Seton on December 15, 1643 (Appendix VII.), was granted shortly after Bessie Duncan's death."
