"George Gordon, III. of Coclarachie, married Bessie, daughter of James Duncan of Merdrum. Bessie Duncan survived her husband..... In 1636 'the guidwyff of Coclarachie' was residing in Old Aberdeen (Munro's Old Aberdeen, i., 354); and probably the charter of liferent to Grissell Seton on December 15, 1643 Appendix VII.), was granted shortly after Bessie Duncan's death."
