See notices of his father, 1602, 1619, 1629." Alexander married Wife UNKNOWN.1 (Wife UNKNOWN was born about 1605.) Marriage Notes: "On October 20, 1638, he was chosen by the Presbytery of Strathbogie ruling elder to the General Assembly, and the same presbytery, on April 24, 1644, chose 'for Rhynie and Essie, Alexander Gordon of Merdrum' as one of a 'list of able men from euerie parochin for to be insert in a commission for sorcereris and charmeris'. On July 26, 1646, he was one of those who were appointed to 'estimat and appreciat' the manse of Rhynie. He was one of the elders of Rhynie who were present at a presbyterial visitation of that parish on August 13, 1651 (Presbytery Book of Strathbogie, pp. 13, 19, 53, 67, 207). |
