Bethia married James HAMILTON 9th of Woodhall, son of James HAMILTON 8th of Woodhall and Giles KNOX.¹ (James HAMILTON 9th of Woodhall was born about 1600 and died before 1689.)

Note:

Historical and Genealogical Memoirs of the House of Hamilton presents this Bethia Hamilton as the granddaughter rather than the daughter of John Hamilton and Christian Dalzell. This is not apparently compatible with a marriage contract date of July 1633, assumibg that is correct, especially since in that volume Bethia is said to have been a daughter of a second wife.

Similarly stirnet.com gives a marriage year of 1634 for the parents of Bethia Hamilton, Sir John Hamilton and Bethia Henderson,which, again, is incompatible with a marriage date of 20 July 1633(contract) for Bethia Hamilton herself. ^{3 4 5}
