"Sir John Henderson, 4th of Fordell was the son of James Henderson, 3rd of Fordell and Jean Murray. He married, firstly, Agnes Balfour, daughter of David Balfour of Balbouthie. He married, secondly, Anna Halkett, daughter of Sir Robert Halkett of Pitfirrane. He died in January 1618.
He was appointed Knight by King James VI."
