John married Rachel BONAR 'of Rossie'.¹ (Rachel BONAR 'of Rossie' was born about 1596.)

"He (John Hamilton) married, first, Rachel, daughter of James Bonar of Rossie, in Fife, by whom he had only two daughters:

1. Christian, married to John Robertoun of Ernock.

2. Agnes, who, along with her sister Christian, had a charter, under the great seal, of an annualrent furth of the lands of Provan, dated 24th July 1657."
