Helen married Hugh MONTGOMERIE Lord Montgomerie, 4th Earl of Eglinton, son of Hugh MONTGOMERIE Lord Montgomerie, 3rd Earl of Eglinton and Agnes DRUMMOND.1 (Hugh MONTGOMERIE Lord Montgomerie, 4th Earl of Eglinton was born in 1563 1 and died on 18 April 1585 1.). The cause of his death was revenge killing. Marriage Notes: "He (Hugh Montgomerie) was twice married .... When his first wife died is not certain, but he married, secondly, Helen, daughter of Thomas Kennedy of Bargany." Helen next married John GRAHAM younger, of Knockdoliane on 8 May 1590.1 (John GRAHAM younger, of Knockdoliane was born about 1560.) Marriage Notes: "... Helen, daughter of Thomas Kennedy of Bargany ....had been contracted to John Graham, younger of Knokdoliane, and arrangements were made for their settlement before 26 April 1583, but these must have been set aside when she married the Master (of Eglinton). After the Earl's death she was, at Bargany on 8 May 1590, again contracted to John Graham, who ratified the terms of the former contract, and they were completed." Helen next married Alexander KENNEDY in Craigneill by November 1605.1 (Alexander KENNEDY in Craigneill was born about 1565.) Marriage Notes: "... Helen, daughter of Thomas Kennedy of Bargany .... was married, thirdly, perhaps in or before 1604, certainly before November 1605, to Alexander, son of Hugh Kennedy in Craigneill." |
