When Richard Haimes died in 1856, his death certificate recorded him as a married man of 54 years of age who worked as a shoemaker. the certificate recorded both of his parents as living, though as far as is known only Richard's mother was still alive. 2 3

  Medical Notes:

The cause of death was certified by Thomas Howden MD who saw the deceased man on the 23 October 1856.

Alex Haimes, Richard's brother gave notice of his death before the registrar, Thomas Henderson, at Haddington on 25 October 1856.

Richard Haimes was buried at Haddington, as certified by James Lugton, joiner. 2
