George was the eldest son recorded in the family of George and Jane Haimes in the 1881 census. He lived at 21 Market Street Haddington and was a coach painter. His age was recorded as 20 years and his birthplace as Haddington.


In his death certificate of 1918, George Haimes was recorded as a coach painter married to Margaret Lamb. His usual residence was 116 Rose Street, and his age as 56 years. Both of his parents were deceased. 1
