  General Notes:

The 1841 census for Muirkirk recorded Thomas and Janet White, both born in Ayrshire, living in Main Street. Thomas was in the 60-64 years age range and worked as a labourer. Janet was aged in the 50-54 years range. Another member of the household was Walter Blakley, a 40 year old Ayrshire-born mason by trade.

When Janet Williamson died in 1863 she was recorded as 82 years of age, and the "widow of Thomas White General Labourer".

In the 1865 death certificate of his son John, Thomas White was recorded as a "Field Labourer (deceased)". ^{1 2 3}

Thomas married Janet WILLIAMSON, daughter of John WILLIAMSON and Margaret DONALDSON. (Janet WILLIAMSON was born about 1782 in Crawford parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland ^{2 3 4 5} and died on 27 April 1863 in Muirkirk village, Ayrshire, Scotland ^{1 2}.). The cause of her death was heart disease over some years.
