In this reign the succession to the crown of Scotland was definitely settled by Parliament." Robert married Elizabeth MURE 'of Rowallan', daughter of Sir Adam MURE and Janet MURE heiress of Polkellie, 1336 in common law, then 22 November 1347(papal dispensation).1 (Elizabeth MURE 'of Rowallan' was born about 1320 and died by May 1355 1.) Marriage Notes: "He (Robert Stewart) married, first, Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Adam Mure of Rowallan (dispensation by Pope Clement VI., 22 November 1347)" Robert next married Euphemia ROSS Countess of Moray, then Queen of Scots, daughter of Hugh 4th Earl of Ross and Margaret DE GRAHAM, 2 May 1355(papal dispensation).1 (Euphemia ROSS Countess of Moray, then Queen of Scots was born about 1326 3 and died by 1387(1388) 3.) Marriage Notes: "King Robert II. married secondly, Euphemia, daughter of Hugh, Earl of Ross, and widow of John Randolph, third Earl of Moray (dispensation by Pope Innocent VI., 2 May 1355)." |
