Margaret married George ABERCROMBY of Pitmedden, son of Alexander ABERCROMBY of Pitmedden and Jonet OGILVY, before 29 October 1533.1 (George ABERCROMBY of Pitmedden was born about 1485.)

"He (George Abercromby) married, first, Christina Barclay ; and secondly, before 29 October 1533, when he had with her a charter of the lands of Over and Nether Clune, co. Banff, Margaret Gordon. She afterwards was married, secondly, contract 24 April 1553, to Alexander Cumming of Altyre. By his first wife he had at least one son, James .... "

Margaret next married Thomas CUMMING of Altyre, son of Thomas CUMMING and Agnes GRANT, 24 April 1553(contract).1 (Thomas CUMMING of Altyre was born about 1531 and died by 1609 2.)

"Nov. 11 1558 Thomas Cumyn married Margaret, daughter of Sir Alexander Gordon of , Strathdon, who was the third son of the third Earl of Huntly (Alexander Gordon). By her he had three sons: 1, Alexander; 2, David ; 3, James, who became the heir.

In Registrum Moraviensis, 411, we find 'Carta feodifirmae ab Episcopo cum consenso capituli concessa Thomae Cumyng de Alter, et Margareta Gordon, ejus spousse, terrarum de Logygowne, Ardovy, Dolesbrachty, Clunerny, cum piscaria in Acqua de Findorne, in vie. de Elgin et Forres. Apud Sconan et Elgin, Julii 1561.' " (page 463)
