This source does not name the mother of Elizabeth Irvine. It has been assumed that her mother was Margaret Oliphant, the first wife of Richard Irvine as the dates do not allow Elizabeth to be the child of Richard's second marriage in 1781, though she may have been born outside marriage. 1
