McCORMICK, James
General Notes: In the birth certificate of his son, Francis, in 1884, James was recorded as being a 'showmaker (journeyman)'. He was the informant of his son's birth, and had been present where the child was born. James married Elizabeth McNERNY, daughter of Michael McNERNY and Elizabeth GRIBBEN, on 6 December 1858 in Free West Manse, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Elizabeth McNERNY was born about 1839 in Ireland and died 1 June 1911 at 0.30 pm in Chapel Street, Carluke, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was cerebral haemorrhage over 7 days. Marriage Notes: The marriage took place, after banns, according to the forms of the Free Church of Scotland. The minister was William Jackson, minister of Free West Church, Airdrie. The witnesses were William Laurie and Margaret Campbell. |
