"James Buchan of Auchmacoy.

He had sasine of the whole lands as early as 1624, and again in 1625 upon his father's resignation, in favour of himself and of Margaret Seton, his spouse, and failing them and their heirs, with a destination to his brothers, George and John. Margaret Seton, his wife, was a daughter of Alexander Seton of Pitmedden, by Beatrix Ogilvie, sister of the first Lord Banff .... He died about the year 1659, leaving by his wife, Margaret Seton, four sons and four daughters"
