Alexander married Beatrix ANNAND, daughter of Alexander ANNAND of Auchterellon and Margaret FRASER.¹ (Beatrix ANNAND was born about 1570.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Alexander Buchan of Auchmacoy. He was served heir, a.d. 1581, to his father, Alexander Buchan, in the lands of Meikle Auchmacoy and Oikhorne; also at the same date, 1581-2, to the lands of Inverthernie within the barony of Auchterless. He had sasine of these lands, 3 Februaiy, 1581, with the reservation of the life-rent of his mother, Elizabeth Seton .... His first wife was Beatrix, daughter of Thomas Annand of Auchterellon, an influential family in the neighbourhood of Auchmacoy, by whom he had only one son, who seems to have died young."

Note:

If Beatrix married this Alexander Buchan then chronologically it is not possible she was the daughter of Thomas Annand who, so the same text says elsewhere, died in 1548. She was probably his granddaughter. ¹

Alexander next married Agnes FRASER, daughter of Thomas FRASER 6th of Durris and Margaret GORDON, in 1598.^{1 2} (Agnes FRASER was born about 1572.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Alexander Buchan, 7th of Auchmacoy was the son of Alexander Buchan, 6th of Auchmacoy and Elizabeth Seton. He married, firstly, Beatrix Annand, daughter of Thomas Annand of Auchterellon. He married, secondly, Agnes Fraser, daughter of Thomas Fraser of Durris, in 1598. He died in 1625. On 23 July 1598 his lands were erected into a barony."
