He was served heir to his father, Alexander Buchan of Auchmacoy, in the lands of Meikle Auchmacoy, Oikorne, &c., October 31, 1556, and had sasine of these lands and of the annual rent from Saithlie on 4 November, 1556. His mother, Janet Dumbreck, had her life-rent of the lands of Oikhorne."
