"Margaret was succeeded by her daughter Sophia Lundin, who was married to John Drummond (later Earl of Melfort), the second son of James Drummond 3rd Earl of Perth. Their children would again take the name Lundin, but three generations later, the surname of Lundin was dropped for Drummond and Lundin was sold. The male descendants of the marriage of Sophia Lundin and John Drummond had become the heirs to the Earldom of Perth, and the sale of Lundin was required to pay the legal fees in obtaining the title and estates."
