LUNDIE, John of that Ilk, Sir 1User ID: M673. General Notes: "He (John Lundie) succeeded his younger brother William to Lundie, who in turn had succeeded the eldest brother James. This succession was not easy, as their uncle, Sir James Lundie, had tried to defraud each of them in turn out of their right to the lands and position of head of house. John's brother William died in 1623, but it was not until 1634 that John was able to get his hands on Lundie." John married Katherine LINDSAY, daughter of Alexander LINDSAY of Evelick, Bishop of Dunkeld and Unknown, on 4 October 1627.1 (Katherine LINDSAY was born about 1603.) Marriage Notes: "John married Katherine Lindsay, one of two daughters of Alexander Lindsay, Bishop of Dunkeld, with the contract dated the 4th of October 1627." |
