"He (John Lundie) succeeded his younger brother William to Lundie, who in turn had succeeded the eldest brother James. This succession was not easy, as their uncle, Sir James Lundie, had tried to defraud each of them in turn out of their right to the lands and position of head of house. John's brother William died in 1623, but it was not until 1634 that John was able to get his hands on Lundie."
