Isobel married Sir Patrick STRACHAN 9th of Glenkindie, Merchant in Aberdeen, son of Michael STRACHAN of Auchnagatt and Unknown.1 2 (Sir Patrick STRACHAN 9th of Glenkindie, Merchant in Aberdeen was born about 1665 and died on 2 January 1726 in Aberdeen, Scotland 1.)

"Sir Patrick (Strachan) was twice married. His first wife was Isobell Forbes, of what family is not stated, probably of Edinglassie. He had no family by that marriage, and Isobell Forbes died subsequent to 4th February, 1715, for on that date he executed a very elaborate deed of entail..."

The parish registers record baptisms of this couple's children from 1696, and so their year of marriage, as noted in the above extract, hardly seems unlikely.

1666 is clearly an error.
Isobel is likely to have died after 4 February 1715 when Sir Patrick Strachan "executed a very elaborate deed of entail", according to The Strachans of Glenkindie, the children born to them having died, and she being unlikely to bear any others. Or, it may be that she did die as a result of a pregnancy and childbirth.
Christian and Elizabeth, daughters of Sir Patrick Strachan's second marriage, were his heiresses. 1 2
