In the Church Baptism Record transcribed and made available by the Irish Family History Foundation it was recorded that Sara Vallely was baptized in Dungannon RC parish, County Tyrone, Ireland, on 26 August 1860. Her parents were Thomas Vallely and Catherine Quinn. The address of the family was Glebe. The sponsors were 'John' and, (separately), 'Elizabeth Vallely', it being unclear whether these latter two were a couple. No other information was provided.
The 1861 census for Shotts Parish, Scotland, recorded a baby girl, Sarah, daughter of Thomas and Cathrine Vallely. She was 7 months old and had been born in Ireland.
Sara was not included in the family list in the 1871 census. This note explains why: "It would seem that she (Sara) remained/returned to Ireland. She is in the census of 1901 in Northern Ireland living with her uncle John Quinn in Derrywhinnen Glebe and again in 1911 although John Quinn is no longer there. I found her death certificate. She died on the 1/9/1929 in Derrywhinnen Glebe and the witness to her death was her brother James Vallely (My grandfather) whose address is given as Roselea, Cleland."
