  General Notes:

Michael was aged 7 years when recorded by the 1861 census living with his twin and his family at 103 Stirling Street Airdrie. He was a scholar and had been born in Airdrie.

Michael's father, George, died in 1876. It was Michael who visited the registrar, William Whyte, at Airdrie on 3 July 1876 to give notice of the death.

Bridget's son Michael O'Brien, who had been present where her death occurred, gave notice of his mother's death before Wm. Whyte, registrar, at Airdrie on 19 April 1881. 2


Michael married Mary Ann TRAINOR, daughter of Bernard TRAINOR and Mary HUGHES, on 5 October 1879 in St Margaret's RC Church, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Mary Ann TRAINOR was born on 13 May 1857 in New Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland 1 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was John McIntosh RCC. The witnesses were Findlay Jack and Jessie Jack.

Michael O'Brien was a bachelor of 26 years of age. He was a tinsmith and gasfitter (journeyman) and lived at 75 Bell Street Airdrie. His father was deceased.

Mary Ann Trainor was also unmarried and aged 21 years. Her address was 26 Alexander Street Airdrie and she was a steamloom weaver. Her mother was deceased.

The marriage was registered on 7 October 1879 at Airdrie, William Whyte being the signing registrar. 1
