In 1891 Richard Nisbet was recorded by the census for Edinburgh living, the youngest child, at 5 Brown Street, his family home, which his sister, Eleanor, and her husband Henry McKeen, now ran, as pseudo parents, after the death of Alexander and Isabella Nisbet. Richard was 9 years old and was a scholar. He had been born in Edinburgh.
In 1901, the census Richard Nisbet was living with Henry and Eleanor McKeen and their five children, aged from 3 months to 9 years.
