The 1851 UK census for Dalry in Ayrshire recorded Mary Gibson as the head of the household living at 4 Kersland Row. The household consisted of herself, her two sons and two daughters. Mary was 41 years old and had been born in Paisley, Renfrewshire. She was an annuitant.

Mary married John GIBSON on 12 April 1829 in High Church Parish, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.¹ (John GIBSON was born about 1800.)
