The 1851 UK census for Dalry in Ayrshire recorded Mary Gibson as the head of the household living at 4 Kersland Row. The household consisted of herself, her two sons and two daughters. Elizabeth, the eldest girl but third child, was recorded as 10 years of age. Her birthplace was Dalry, Ayrshire.
