   Other names for Mary were CAVANAGH, Mary ^{2 3} and McINULTY, Mary.⁴

  General Notes:

No father was named on Mary Cavanagh's birth certificate, only that of her mother Jane Cavanagh. We know that Jane's husband, James Cavanagh, died in 1859, before Mary would have been conceived.

The 1871 census for Holytown recorded Mary Cavanagh living with her widowed mother and her older brother, John, at School Row. Mary was aged 7 years and had been born in Bothwell parish. She was a scholar.

Mary was recorded by the 1881 census living with her mother and sister at 45 Dixon Street, Blantyre. She was recorded as aged 18 years and was a servant.

In 1891 the census entry for Annsfield Place, Blantyre, showed Jane Crow, recorded as aged 64 years, boarding with her daughter Mary, Mary's husband Andrew McAnulty, and their two children. ^{1 3}

Mary married Andrew McANULTY, son of Peter McANULTY and Catherine McSORLEY. (Andrew McANULTY was born on 24 November 1860 in Rumbling Sykes, Craigneuk, Lanarkshire, Scotland,^{5 6} died on 12 November 1949 in 105 Parkville Drive, Blantyre, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁷ and was buried in High Blantyre cemetery, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁷.)
